Udhampur genuinely sits on the banks of the Devika river, considered a sister river to the Ganga in local tradition, with real riverside festivities including multi-day Baisakhi celebrations drawing folk singers and devotees each year. Udhampur is also genuinely one of the hillier districts of Jammu division, with terrain that transitions from the plains near Jammu city into real Himalayan foothills. This combination of genuine riverside cultural tradition and hill-country geography has shaped Udhampur into a district with a distinctive character within Jammu division. Away from the riverbank, Udhampur's surrounding hills support genuine mixed farming across pine-forested terrain. Our equipment is built for exactly this combination — a genuine river-and-hill district, with real, productive farmland.
