Pond liner thickness is a direct trade-off between durability and cost, and 300 micron sits at the lighter end of that trade-off — a genuinely waterproof, UV-stabilized membrane, just built with less material than our thicker options, which means less puncture resistance and a shorter expected service life in exchange for a lower cost per square metre covered.
That makes it a sensible choice for smaller ponds, seasonal water storage that gets refilled or replaced periodically anyway, or as a way to trial pond-based water storage on your farm before committing to a larger, permanent installation with a thicker liner. It's not the right choice for a site with sharp stones, roots, or heavy foot/equipment traffic near the liner, where a puncture risk is real — for those conditions, our 400 or 500 micron options hold up considerably better.
